6 Reasons Why ATVs are So Much Fun

There are few things in life that are more exhilarating than opening the throttle on your own ATV and experiencing that adrenaline rush of riding through the backcountry.

Ask anyone that owns an ATV and they’ll tell you how awesome it is. The freedom they experience cannot be replicated in any other way.

What makes ATVing so great? Here are our top reasons.

1. It Brings Family Together

Families that play together, stay together. ATVing is an excellent way to bond with your kids; it gets them away from their phone screens, helps them appreciate nature, and allows them to build lasting memories of their childhood.

It also helps build a child’s confidence—being able to control a motorized vehicle safely is a great confidence boost and can help them in other areas of their lives. Plus, they’ll likely be able to pass their driver’s test that much easier once they’re older.

2. It’s Good For Your Mental Health

Remember what we said about fresh air and sunshine? Getting a good dose of vitamin D is shown to help improve your mood and overall outlook on life, and heading out on an ATV is an excellent way to do that.

It won’t solve every problem, but it will definitely make you feel better after a long day out on the trails.

3. It Gets You Outside

Yes, you could just walk out your front door and be outside, but when we say outside, we mean out in nature.

Walking a trail is a nice way to see the wilderness, we guess. But you’ll be able to see a heck of a lot more on four wheels than two feet. ATV trails can take you to some incredible out-of-the-way places that the average person likely won’t see. And that can feel pretty darn amazing.

Plus, all that fresh air, exercise, and sunshine just makes you feel your absolute best.

4. It Takes Camping and Hunting To The Next Level

ATVs are great for camping and hunting in a couple ways. One, taking them with you means you can explore even more of the area you’re in, and then return to the campsite in time to enjoy marshmallows over the fire.

An ATV can also get you to some remote but spectacular deep woods camping and hunting spots because ATVs can go where cars and trucks can’t, so you can actually get away from it all.

5. It’s A Year-Round Activity

Yes, it’s true! You can literally ride your ATV in all the seasons. You can be out in the heat of summer, ripping through the mud in spring, or riding out for a campfire in the fall.

You’ll need a few things to make it possible in winter—you might consider switching out the tires for treads—but you can absolutely bundle up and go blast through the snow as well. Just make sure the trails are open and allow ATVs during winter.

6. It’s Not Just For Recreation

Speaking of winter, how much do you love shovelling snow? We’re gonna guess ‘not at all.’ But that’s okay, because an ATV can make shovelling much easier (and fun)!

Attaching a blade to your ATV in the winter means you can clear your driveway in a fraction of the time and without straining your back. It’s a win-win!

You can also use an ATV to do towing and hauling in areas that are too awkward for a truck to get into.
